In a tribute to Italian composer Giacomo Puccini to mark the centenary year of his death, the MPO celebrates his operatic masterpieces of magnificent proportions; Turandot, about Prince Calaf, who falls in love with Princess Turandot and has to solve three riddles to marry her, excerpts from La bohème, a love story between a poet and a seamstress, and Gianni Schicchi, inspired by a passage from Dante’s Inferno. Conducted by Arvo Volmer and featuring soprano Nika Gorič, this is a definitive not-to-be-missed concert for opera and music lovers!
