Christian Arming leads the MPO in a programme of rich Romantic repertoire. Smetana’s beloved The Moldau (from Má vlast) opens the evening with its flowing, picturesque beauty, followed by Wagner’s intimate and expressive Wesendonck Lieder with soprano Katherine Broderick. The concert culminates in Brahms’ mighty Symphony No. 4, one of the great final statements of the Romantic era. A programme of poetry, passion and symphonic mastery.
