Sing Fai Bangkok Premiere Cantonese Opera Heritage

Join us for the Sing Fai Bangkok Premiere – a celebration of Cantonese Opera Heritage performed by 37 talented children and youth, aged 3 to 21, on 1st and 2nd Aug 2024. With more than 10 opera titles and song performances, this event promises to be a spectacular showcase of young talent and cultural heritage.

The internationally acclaimed Sing Fai Cantonese Opera Promotion Association Limited (聲輝粵劇推廣協會) has over 20 years of history and is dedicated to nurturing young Cantonese opera talents and promoting the inheritance of Cantonese opera. For the past decade, Sing Fai has often served as a cultural ambassador for Hong Kong, China, at high-level inter-governmental and cross-cultural events, promoting the important traditions of Chinese xiqu.

From 31st July to 2nd August, Sing Fai will launch the “Cantonese Opera Heritage in Bangkok” project for the first time. This year also marks the 15th anniversary of Cantonese Opera’s inclusion on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Sing Fai looks forward to meeting local Chinese opera fans and engaging in cultural exchanges with Cantonese opera groups, schools, and the business community in Bangkok. Come and experience the beauty of Cantonese opera through the performances of these young, dedicated artists.
